The Model 3 car was formerly among the most reasonably priced EVs

available for purchase thanks to Tesla's price reductions, but since the

revised model appeared earlier in 2024, the situation has changed.

The starting price of the Model 3 is now $38,990, and federal tax credits are not available for any

model other than the new Performance variant. Tesla, meanwhile, dropped the price of the Model Y to just $29,420.

In addition, the Y is eligible for general tax benefits, which further lowers the price of the model even in its most economical versions.
